About the Company: Our client has 40+ years of experience as an industry leading Automotive Supplier to the OEM Global Market. They are growing their Moraine, OH team and are looking to add a Quality Engineer.

Job Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, organizing, and improving quality systems and manufacturing processes to ensure a zero defect culture.

Job Responsibilities - Quality Engineer: Lead/support cross-functional teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions using basic and/or advanced problem-solving methods. Monitor customer sites and report any dissatisfaction. Support Engineering on the creation of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Responsible for creating valid control plans and inspection standards for current and new product Early Production Containment (EPC) at product launch. Analyze Scrap and FFT data from production to drive continuous improvement in order to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Maintain quality metrics and report status to the Quality Manager and Staff as required. Perform internal audits (IATF and Layered Process) and report findings, taking appropriate actions with a cross functional team to mitigate future occurrence. Support Engineering in the development and implementation of improved process methods and error proofing (Poka-Yoke). Assess and make recommendations and execute plans to reduce risk (such as RPFMEA) and promote shop floor visualization and 5S. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent training. 3+ years’ experience in automotive manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of quality related inspections and audits. Ability to use both basic and advanced problem solving methods (i.e., 8D, Six-Sigma, or Red-X) to assess and mitigate issues that may affect internal manufacturing or the end customer. Experience with assembly and metal fabrication manufacturing workflow and methods. Broad knowledge of theory and use of principles of statistics and statistical process control. Strong computer skills including applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Ability to use continual improvement activities to enhance the current systems. Understanding of basic GD&T principles and print reading.
