Position Summary
As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting activities of multi-family real estate properties including maintaining vendor accounts, accurate recording of transactions, the preparation of monthly financials and portfolio reporting packages. You will also be responsible for the communication of accounting information to the appropriate management and on-site teams. The ideal candidate will provide quality customer service to internal and external customers.
What You'll Be Doing
Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all month-end accounting and reporting procedures
Prepare and review monthly financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Review financial results with management and regional staff
Reconcile bank statements
Maintain accurate cash balances and process payables accordingly
Review the general ledger for appropriate account usage, expense accruals and revenue recognition
Monitor all activity related to loan documents, including debt service and escrow funding/usage
Prepare quarterly Replacement Reserve Draws for Lenders.
Prepare monthly financial statements and monthly cash flow projections for both internal and external users
Assist in any audits required by the business
Assist in the development of annual budgets and reforecasts
Education And Qualifications
2+ years of property accounting experience is preferred
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
Proficiency with MS Office suite including a strong ability to utilize Excel to analyze, report, and ensure the accuracy of financial data is required
Experience with property management software, specifically Yardi, is preferred.
Must possess excellent attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks while ensuring accuracy.
Be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to various users who may have limited accounting knowledge
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Compensation
The base compensation range for this position is $67,725 to $80,000.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
