Mission:

As the Project Engineering Manager at Epiroc, you will lead the Project Engineering group, a multi-disciplinary engineering and a vital support arm within the robotics engineering mining division. Your leadership is crucial in driving the efficient and effective development of solutions and services, managing three key subgroups: Documentation, Process Management & Standards, and Engineering Project Management.

In this role, you will not only ensure the smooth operation of these subgroups but also be responsible for the strategic assignment of personnel to projects. This will involve aligning team members' skills and expertise with project requirements to optimize outcomes and advance the company's innovation in autonomous mining technology. Your oversight will be instrumental in upholding Epiroc's commitment to excellence and market leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the Project Engineering Team in alignment with the engineering group’s mission and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to the subgroups: Documentation, Process Management & Standards, and Engineering Project Management.
  • Lead and manage the Project Engineers, ensuring regular status updates are made to the Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and delivery of technical information including user manuals, technical reports, and white papers.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is clear, concise, and easily understandable.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the accurate dissemination of technical information.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and research to assist in the development of compliant products.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and innovation within the team.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development to team members.
  • The position requires 25-40% travel and the ability to move around mining job sites.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering project management, with a proven track record of successfully supporting and delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Experience in creating and managing technical documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively.
  • Must demonstrate Ownership and Accountability
  • Must be able to create vision and translate into tangible layers for execution
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Must be able to perform in a team-oriented environment
  • A detail-oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
