Project Engineer
Performs engineering work in ideation, design planning and execution of projects to support generation of innovative new products; supports continuing production of current equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages projects and/or portions of projects associated with engineering product development, including product modifications and complete development projects from concept to production.
- Participate and lead in a team environment for given projects, have primary responsibility for others and directly supervise others.
- Responsible for establishing project schedules and coordinating with other disciplines required to maintain those schedules.
- Responsible for ensuring a successful handoff from Engineering to Manufacturing for production of products developed.
- Generate concepts for innovative products and features for new products in a collaborative environment with engineering department team members and disciplines.
- Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications, including Project Management keys such as: timelines, meeting budgets, meeting product cost targets and having full desired features per product criteria.
- Works closely with designers and drafters assigned to projects to ensure integrity and timeliness of documentations efforts.
- May have assigned responsibility for on-going engineering support of existing products.
- Evaluates progress and results and may recommend changes in procedures.
- May have some latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions relative to the project.
- Participates in BUNN Quality Improvement Process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline is preferred; minimum of 4 years in engineering experience with BUNN products or products of similar complexity; at least 2 years of project management experience required; understanding of the new product development process and manufacturing processes; requires good computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, e-mail and project management software; strong aptitude in basic electronics, hydraulics and mechanical systems is required; ability to communicate well with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
