The Job

A successful candidate for this role will have a variety of live production experience within a music, festival, or performance venue, and will proactively problem solve and coordinate our technical equipment and services. This position is best suited for someone who has the ability to work effectively and autonomously as part of a small team. You will be an organized and flexible individual who is personable, approachable, and has the ability to communicate positively with artists, production teams and other venue users

What You’ll Do

  • Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously, working with the Venue Manager and/or Events Manager and scheduled Sound Engineers to oversee the completion of all projects
  • Manage all technical aspects of live shows, including but not limited to; sound, lighting, and staging
  • Create an effective, safe, balanced, and efficient sound mix, in the process providing the other Engineers with the tools they need to create excellent sound
  • Troubleshoot and maintain professionalism under pressure, ensuring each event runs to completion, bringing minimum attention to any technical issues
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming environment and positive experience for all persons hosted at the venue
  • Manage communication regarding production needs with artists and coordinators leading up to events and on-site during performance
  • Contribute to establishing the production schedule for each event: collaborate with the Venue Manager to set load-in times and transitions based upon established door times, venue, and production needs.
  • Collaborate with the artist, event coordinator, and Venue Manager to ensure we can achieve all technical requirements of the event production as presented within tech specs and stage plots
  • Inform any necessary equipment rentals to the Venue Manager and/or Events Manager
  • Assist with Load-in & Load-out with band equipment and rental equipment, as needed
  • Ensure venue egresses are clear of artist equipment during show
  • Provide support to touring FOH and monitor Burial sound equipment when in use by external parties
  • Train and monitor the performance of contracted Sound Engineers
  • Be receptive to Sound Engineer needs and collaborate with the Venue Manager to create support and infrastructure
  • Schedule Engineers for each event based upon event needs; maintain a FOH schedule for reference by other Burial/Eulogy parties
  • Be available to communicate with, and provide hands on support to, other Sound Engineers during shows, as needed
  • Assist with other Burial event needs related to sound
  • Supervise any stage hands or production crew during large-scale events
  • Assist the Eulogy team in building production standards as the venue grows
  • Assist with and perform auxiliary tasks as needed by the Eulogy Venue Manager and Burial Events Manager
  • Assemble, operate, and maintain inventory and preventive maintenance of backline and other audio equipment
  • Run lighting equipment
  • Safely hang band and event banners/decor
  • Oversee and execute stage cleanliness and maintenance

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability as a sound engineer across various genres.
  • Experience interfacing with artists within a live music environment.
  • Sufficient understanding of audio equipment, allowing the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the spot.
  • Proficient in basic Google software.
  • Must be a solution-based thinker, possessing strong interpersonal communication and time management skills, along with the ability to multitask and remain calm under stress.
