The Product Manager, Technical embodies a multifaceted role, serving as a strategist, analyst, customer advocate, and influential leader in both business and technology realms. This dynamic individual excels in fostering professional relationships and is instrumental in supervising the execution of T-Mobile's Supply Chain products. These encompass critical processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Reference Data, and Inventory Management. Knowledge of ERP applications such as SAP and Oracle Cloud is highly valued. Prior experience working with APIs, MicroServices, databases, and digital architecture is required. As the key steward of these critical components, the Product Manager, Technical is entrusted with ultimate accountability, responsibility, and ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Supply Chain Technical Product Manager, your responsibilities typically include:

  • Product Strategy: Developing and refining the product strategy for SAP technical solutions, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives.
  • Roadmap Planning: Creating and maintaining a roadmap for the development and enhancement of SAP, Digital, and Oracle Cloud applications prioritizing features and functionalities based on customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with partners, including business users, IT teams, and SAP consultants, to gather and analyze requirements for SAP solutions.
  • Solution Design: Working closely with Business and IT teams to design technical solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Project Management: Leading or participating in multi-functional project teams to implement or upgrade ERP solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Vendor Management: Maintaining relationships with third-party vendors, including negotiating contracts, evaluating product offerings, and coordinating the delivery of products and services.
  • Change Management: Facilitating activities to ensure smooth adoption of technical solutions, including training, communication, and partner engagement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Reviewing the performance of various applications, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing measures to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with various applications (Digital, SAP, Oracle), including security risks, compliance issues, and system vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation and Communication: Documenting specifications, requirements, and design decisions. Communicating product updates, enhancements, and issues to customers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluating SAP operational and technical products and processes to find opportunities for innovation, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Innovation and Transformation: Learn and support new technologies like Oracle Cloud ERP and new product capabilities.
  • As an Operational Technical Product Manager, you play a critical role in driving the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing management of SAP solutions to support business operations and technical requirements.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Solid technical background with proficiency in REST APIs, MicroServices architecture, Event based frameworks, and ERPs (SAP or Oracle).
  • Product Management: Validated experience in product management, including product strategy development, roadmap planning, requirements gathering, solution design, and project management.
  • Business Insight: Understanding of business processes across various functional areas such as finance, sales, marketing, supply chain, and human resources. Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives and priorities.
  • Partner Management: Excellent customer management skills, including the ability to collaborate with business users, IT teams, consultants, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Project Management: Solid project management skills with experience leading multi-functional project teams in the implementation, upgrade, and enhancement of IT systems.
  • Change Management: Proficiency in change management principles and practices, such as facilitating change and drive adoption of new solutions within the organization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze requirements, identify business needs, evaluate solution options, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners and present ideas and recommendations effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement in SAP operational and technical solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with third-party vendors, including contract negotiation, vendor selection, and vendor performance management.
  • Documentation: Proficiency in documenting product specifications, requirements, design decisions, and project deliverables. Ability to create clear and concise documentation for end users and technical teams.
  • Technical Product Manager can effectively lead the planning, implementation, and management of Supply Chain systems.
  • SAP Knowledge (Nice to have): Understanding of SAP modules such as ECC (Enterprise Central Component), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), PI (Process Integration), OER (Object Event Repository), BW (Business Warehouse), and other relevant SAP solutions.


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) (Preferred)
  • SAFe Product Owner Product Manager (POPM) (Preferred)
  • Other Technical Certification Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (Preferred)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
