BASIC FUNCTIONS : A Pre-Kindergarten teacher is highly qualified and holds an Early Childhood endorsement and is responsible for delivering the Common Core State Standards and the SBCSC curriculum in a differentiated, general education learning environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
A teaching candidate must fully implement the Pre-kindergarten curriculum, following the corporation provided instructional resources including but not limited to High Scope, Fundations, Heggerty.
Additionally The Teacher Will
Plan lessons and provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs and assess student growth.
Maintain a safe classroom and appropriate classroom management
Make parent contact, as necessary to advance each child’s learning (both positive and opportunity for work)
Train and utilize curriculum
Complete and maintain all required student records Utilize the SBCSC technology, as required
Other Duties May Include
Uses a variety of teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process
Structure the classroom environment to maintain student interest and engagement
Maintain professional responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating the process of learning by attending
and participating in required staff meetings/staff development
Works together with the building team and administration to ensure collegial relationships and easier transitions for students
Implements and uses PBIS, Responsive Classroom and socially and emotionally appropriate
activities
Qualifications
License with Pre-Kindergarten Endorsement and be Highly Qualified

Maintain regular, documented communication between home and school
Utilize technology to enhance the learning environment and differentiate instruction Works in standard office and school building environments.
Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours.
