Patient Care Secretary

Assists patient care staff with secretarial support. Answers telephones and refers inquires to the appropriate staff. Maintains patient roster. Assembles and maintains medical records, including storing, retrieving, and integrating information for dissemination to staff. Enters referrals into the EMR and completes insurance verification and pre-authorizations. Communicates with referring agencies and receives necessary information. Monitors do the distribution and receipt of physician orders. Processes patient satisfaction surveys. Will assist with patient concierge in our medical unit and emergency.

Qualifications: High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Current Nursing Assistant Level I certification preferred. CPR preferred. Associate degree in medical Secretarial Science or equivalent experience. Knowledge of computer applications and programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of medical terminology.
