KING KONG-TV is looking for an experienced Producer to fill the role of Multi-platform Producer, Sports. We are interested in finding a person with a sports background who can create unique, memorable and well written stories, along with outstanding photography. This job will initially focus on a new weekly program we are producing as the Home of the NHL's Seattle Kraken. It will also include work with our sports partners: the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Reign, and the Olympics, as well as the nightly sportscasts.

Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly hockey show in conjunction with Executive Sports Producer
  • Develop story ideas from sports partnerships to execute within newscasts
  • Identify, write and produce stories within a specific framework.
  • Research for facts and credibility.
  • Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
  • Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
  • Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner.
  • Some shooting involved
  • Perform other tasks as required by executive producer

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • 3-5 years producing experience preferred.
  • Strong sports, and specifically hockey knowledge is preferred
  • Experience shooting and editing sports preferred
  • Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Strong writing skills, production skills
  • ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred.
  • Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines.
  • Knowledge of KING/ KONG Seattle market a plus 
  • Shift could require holidays, weekends, and travel

Pay Range

$26.44—$35.10 USD
