Atlas Roofing Singles and Underlayment is seeking an MMP Apprentice for Franklin, OH.
MMP Apprentice Primary Responsibilities
Atlas provides an opportunity for students to accelerate their personal and professional growth via transformational experiential learning opportunities. Students working at Atlas are connected, challenged, and coached by experienced Atlas Learning Partners who have been carefully selected by Atlas Leadership to support, sponsor, and shape the next generation of early talent for Atlas and the global automotive industry.
The Manufacturing Mentorship Program (MMP) opportunity is located at our Manufacturing Facility in Franklin, Ohio.
The primary focus of the MMP is to provide hands-on learning and practical experience to high school students enrolled in a Skilled Trades education program at a Career Center Supported by their high school Educational Program.
By developing product knowledge, problem solving and technical support, Skilled Trades students participating in Atlas’s MMP Program provide invaluable assistance to Atlas’s engineering community while working in one of the following Skilled Trade areas during their MMP work term:

MMP Apprentice Primary Responsibilities
- Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
- Participates in sample builds, teardowns, testing, and inspections.
- Participates and supports assigned projects in continuous improvement.
- Assists in gathering data, analyzing, skilled trades activities.
- Assists in gathering information on standardization, new technologies, and cost reduction ideas.
- Responsible for test setup, execution, data collection, and reporting.
- Organizes and prioritizes work requests to meet project timing requirements.
- Develops and implements efficiency, cost, and quality improvement ideas.
- Applies knowledge in engineering procedures, tools, and engineering process development.
- Conducting problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to assure root cause is identified and counter measures and recurrence prevention are fully implemented.
- Supports and participates in quality and CARE improvement initiatives directly or indirectly.
- Assists plant management by performing administrative functions.
- Providing technical support and analytical analysis for material issues.
- Must be a full-time student, enrolled in a Skilled Trade education program at Career Center approved by a high school program.
- Must be at least a senior.
- Must maintain a good standing in high school and maintain eligibility in MMP program.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Computer skills required include Excel, Word, Power Point
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Problem solving and project management and communication skills are all necessary. In addition, candidates must have the ability to generate accurate and concise technical reports.
