Our client is seeking a Mechanical Designer with experience in the design of construction and/or retrofit of power generation facilities or heavy industrial facilities. This person will be responsible for the design and layout of piping systems, the selection and use of power piping components and materials and gathering all necessary other information to support design activities.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design for power generation or heavy industrial facilities
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2007 or later with a focus on 3D modeling
• Proficiency in Auto PLANT is highly desirable
• Experience in the preparation and checking of pipe drawings and P&ID's
• Ability to physically visit plants to assess field conditions and gather information
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
