Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to manage and coordinate the activities of our wax, treeing, shell molding, and pouring departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aluminum casting, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our cast products.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the operations of the wax, treeing, shell molding, and pouring departments.
Ensure production schedules are met with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.
Monitor and maintain the quality of wax patterns, tree assemblies, shell molds, and pouring processes.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices for all front-end processes.
Train, mentor, and manage a team of skilled workers, ensuring they adhere to safety and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the engineering and quality control teams to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Oversee inventory management for materials used in the front-end processes.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a foundry or casting manufacturing environment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP (Epicor preferred).
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
