Charlotte, NC is the US production facility for Rexroth’s best-in-class linear motion components, modules, and systems, as well as the world’s most popular aluminum framing, manual production systems and conveyors.
Job Description
The co-op experience at Rexroth-Charlotte will consist of three rotations through the Manufacturing Operations and
Manufacturing Engineering Departments. Each rotation focus is further described below:
Rotation 1 – Training to learn all organizational roles and safety first culture within the first 60 days. Exposure to a
manufacturing environment; exposure to reviewing system performance for improvements; exposure to process
standardization and performance improvement; reading and developing value stream maps and layout designs;
exposure to standardized work documentation, 5S, SMED, TAKT analysis, Ergonomic assessments, and standard
time data management.
Rotation 2 – Exposure to processes and detailed work instructions; investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing
issues; participating in FMEA, Control plans development and capability studies; participating in FMEA risk reduction
and process capability improvements; participating in tooling and machining evaluations; working with 6 Sigma/Green
Belt projects; Support tooling design and shop layouts using Solidworks and AutoCAD software; exposure to
machining and assembling parts.
Rotation 3 – Exposure to cross-functional project management for large capital expenditure projects; participating in
process release planning and tasks; design, construction, and modification of manufacturing workstations and tooling;
design using CAD programs; exposure to value stream design and materials planning.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
