Site Reliability Engineer

Hybrid, Long-term Contract Opportunity in Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities

  • Have a consultant’s mindset – you LISTEN, understand, and lead your customers into the goodness of Reliability practices.
  • Have incredible communication skills.
  • Understand the power of empowering – Shift the SRE power to the devs to the greatest degree possible.
  • Have an irresistible compulsion to automate EVERYTHING – testing, deploying, monitoring, etc.
  • Can take a complex and possibly ill-defined problem and produce a technically reasonable solution, with visuals.
  • Shamelessly don’t know everything, having a keen sense of the balance between connecting the dots yourself and reaching out to the team for perspective in the name of expedience and efficiency (no cowboys, no energy sinks).
  • Display a strong sense of ownership for the work you produce.
  • Daydream of a future with no “Root Cause Analysis” because nothing ever goes down anymore, and you are a major reason for it.
  • Champion of, and well-versed in the value and practice of blameless post-mortems, always iterating toward increased Reliability.
  • Are self-aware. You realize we are all growing together, and we want to help each other do exactly that – you win when we win.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2+ years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as master’s degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 14 years' experience in a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in software development and architecture/solutioning.
  • Agile experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Must have experience with monitoring/alerting/ observability tools such as: New Relic, Splunk, ELK.
  • Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing, dynamic environment.

Compensation

  • $65-75/hour, depending on experience.
  • Must be local and eligible without sponsorship.
