Macdonald & Company are proudly partnered with a prominent North Carolina commercial real estate developer, owner, investor, and operator to appoint a Managing Director of Capital Raising. Our client has a development track record which is nationally recognized, and a robust portfolio within the mixed-use and retail sectors.


The Managing Director of Capital Raising will be mission critical to the firm’s goals of transitioning their strategy from a deal-by-deal basis to a fund model.


The Managing Director of Capital Raising will play a pivotal role in securing capital through private and institutional channels, but with a particular emphasis on RIAs (Registered Investment Advisors), Family Offices, High Net Worth (HNW), and Ultra High Net Worth (UNHW) individuals.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for capital raising, aligned with the company’s growth objectives and investor relations goals.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with RIAs, Family Offices, HNW, and UNHW individuals to raise capital for various real estate investment opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand our investor base and increase capital inflows.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to structure investment offerings and tailor presentations to meet the needs and expectations of potential investors.
  • Lead the preparation of marketing materials, investment memoranda, and other relevant documents to effectively communicate investment opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends and investor sentiment to anticipate opportunities and challenges in the capital raising landscape.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to fundraising activities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully raising capital within the commercial real estate sector, with a focus on RIAs, Family Offices, HNW, and UNHW individuals.
  • Strong network and existing relationships within the investor community, particularly with key decision-makers at RIAs and Family Offices.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment opportunities clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial markets and investment products.
