Manager, Annual Giving & Operations

Position Title: Manager, Annual Giving & Operations

Status: Exempt

Salary: $65,000 - $68,000

Location: Primarily based out of our Denver office at 711 Park Ave W, Denver, CO 80205. 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position is $65,000-$68,000. In an effort to increase equity and to avoid unfair bias historically associated with salary negotiations, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.

How You'll Help

As a Manager of Annual Giving, you'll be working alongside a dynamic team of development professionals dedicated to the mission of Mile High United Way. Reporting to the Vice President of Community Giving & Engagement, you will play a crucial role in identifying, researching, and evaluating potential donors to support our organization's fundraising efforts.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Apply Methodology - Utilize various research methods and tools to identify and qualify potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other entities.
  • Compile Information - Conduct comprehensive research on prospects' backgrounds, wealth indicators, philanthropic history, connections, and interests.
  • Evaluate Information - Determine prospects' capacity and inclination to make significant contributions to Mile High United Way.
  • Propose Actions - Provide strategic insights and recommendations to inform cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for individual prospects and donor segments.
  • Maintain Records - Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect profiles and records in the donor database.
  • Pipeline Development - Collaborate closely with the development team to prioritize prospects and support fundraising initiatives.
  • Pipeline Coordination - From research and client data, develop tools to track the progress of prospective supporters through the development cycle - from identification through to solicitation and stewardship.
  • Annual Engagement Coordination - in collaboration with the Marketing department, coordinate and develop annual engagement touchpoints for various donor segments; track and report progress across teams.
  • Reporting - Develop reports and dashboards that reflect the progress and achievements towards revenue goals; organize and enhance Salesforce functionality to support team fundraising efforts.
  • Stay Current - Monitor industry trends and best practices in prospect research and fundraising.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Community Giving & Engagement.

What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field

Specials Skills/Knowledge

  • Proven experience in prospect research, fundraising, or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and information effectively.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Experience as a "power-user" of Salesforce
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices is preferred.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Working Environment: Typical office environment.

Physical Activities: Ability to operate a computer for extended periods.
