VIQ Solutions is a leading provider of transcription services in the midst of the technology-driven workflow revolution in legal and judicial agencies. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates to assist in transcribing depositions and hearings. This role is fully remote and open to Independent Contractors.
What You'll Do
Transcribe depositions, hearings, and various judicial proceedings with extreme attention to detail.
Process audio recordings in adherence to style guides for accurate verbatim transcripts.
Have the flexibility to set your own schedule with guidance available from our in-office team.
Weekend availability is a plus as we have work available around the clock.
Requirements
Experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription.
Excellent listening skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong literacy skills with a focus on comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
Capacity to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
Proficiency in typing speed and accuracy.
Capability to handle potentially offensive audio/text content.
Successful completion of a background check.
Familiarity with legal terminology.
Equipment Needed
High-speed internet and computer/laptop.
Noise-canceling quality headphones.
Windows 10 operating system.
Antivirus program with daily updates (except Webroot antivirus).
Infinity Foot Pedal (recommended).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
