Description
Serve as full-time legal operations coordinator for Highwoods Properties, with primary emphasis on assisting the Associate General Counsel and Legal Operations Specialist with drafting commercial lease documents and assisting in the legal aspects of the Company’s operational activities.

This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

The employee may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Description
Serve as full-time legal operations coordinator for Highwoods Properties, with primary emphasis on assisting the Associate General Counsel and Legal Operations Specialist with drafting commercial lease documents and assisting in the legal aspects of the Company’s operational activities.
Job Requirements/Responsibilities
- Assist the legal department with intake, tracking status, and coordinating the completion of the department’s day-to-day workflow.
- Draft routine commercial office lease documents.
- Provide legal operations support to lease administrators and property managers for the Company’s markets.
- Assist the Legal Operations Specialist with researching government leasing opportunities and coordinating government proposals when necessary.
- Assisting in the abstraction of joint venture, financing and other documents to provide references for division personnel and corporate departments.
- Research and analyze commercial real estate legal sources to stay abreast on recent legal and market developments, particularly with respect to commercial leasing.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience working in a legal department or law firm preferred.
- Experience with contract drafting process and contract management preferred.
- Must be an organized individual who is highly motivated to comfortably function in a challenging, diverse, and fast paced/high-energy work environment.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Proofreading skills and attention to detail required.
- Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) required.
