Overview

As a Hospital Laboratory Director, you will be at the forefront of leading and supervising laboratory personnel. Your responsibilities will include planning laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and managing the lab efficiently. It will be your duty to maintain the accuracy and reliability of all laboratory services while upholding hospital and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee testing procedures and quality control measures.
• Manage and develop laboratory staff.
• Set goals, provide direction, and ensure goal attainment.
• Compile and submit monthly reports on laboratory activities.
• Establish budget controls and manage costs.
• Implement Point-of-Care-Testing (POCT) in the hospital.
• Advise on capital equipment purchases.
• Address and resolve issues, escalating major concerns.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain necessary certifications.
• Uphold safety and infection control procedures.
• Cultivate a professional and respectful environment.
• Handle client inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital laboratory management experience.
• Preferably a graduate degree or coursework in business administration.
• Proficient in laboratory and hospital operations, financials, and information systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Previous trauma hospital experience preferred.

• Reports to the Director of Lab Operations.
• Academic/teaching hospital setting.
• Must have experience in a 500-bed hospital or larger.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000 per year
