Role: R&D Engineer
Location: Burlington, MA - 1803

Responsibilities
Job Description:
Lead human factors engineering projects independently, overseeing all aspects from research to validation.
Conduct ethnographic user research to identify user needs.
Translate user needs into requirements and product design concepts.
Develop prototypes to explore and validate product design concepts.
Perform workflow, task, and use error analyses, including UFMEAs.
Develop user-facing instructions.
Conduct formative usability testing and summative usability validation testing.
Participate in development program teams to ensure human factors principles are implemented.
Collaborate on designing solutions to usability issues.
Provide input to the risk management process, including identifying patient harms and associated severity/probability.
Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams and leaders to drive work to completion and resolve issues.
Support company initiatives as directed by management and in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Maintain positive and cooperative communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in human factors engineering, human-computer interaction, psychology, or related field.
5+ years of R&D experience in medical device development or other highly regulated industries.
General knowledge of user interface design, human perception, cognition, anthropometry, biomechanics, behavior, and physiology.
Ability to integrate information from diverse disciplines effectively.
Demonstrated leadership skills in team settings.
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel, including internationally.
