General Description

The Job Developer is responsible for sourcing job opportunities and matching them with job seekers. This role involves building relationships with employers, understanding their hiring needs, and effectively placing qualified candidates into suitable positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with local employers to understand their hiring needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers to source job openings.
  • Conduct employer site visits and participate in industry networking events.
  • Research and identify job opportunities across various industries.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on employer contacts, available job openings and job requirements, job placements and employer contacts.
  • Present suitable candidates to employers and coordinate interview processes.
  • Provide pre-employment counseling and support to prepare clients for job placements.
  • Develop marketing materials, such as candidate portfolios, to highlight job seekers' qualifications.
  • Advocate for clients by highlighting their strengths and addressing any potential concerns employers may have.
  • Work closely with career advisors and other staff to understand job seekers' profiles and placement needs.
  • Participate in job fairs, employer panels, and community events to network and source job leads.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on job development activities and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all program work activity guidelines and requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, labor market information, and best practices in job development.
  • Support job seekers in identifying and applying for job openings.
  • Connect job seekers with job fairs, employer recruiting events, and networking opportunities.
  • Utilize job search platforms and resources to match job seekers with potential job opportunities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in job development, employer engagement, or recruitment.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to match job seekers with suitable job opportunities effectively.
  • Arrange job shadowing, internships, and work experience opportunities.
