OPENLANE is currently seeking a talented Interaction Designer to join our team. We are an online marketplace for auto dealers and our platform is changing the way auto dealers buy/sell wholesale vehicles. Our entrepreneurial, collaborative, and dynamic environment is the perfect place for smart, motivated people to make an impact.

As an Interaction Designer at OPENLANE, you’ll work closely with our product, engineering, and marketing teams to help create effective, delightful experiences for users of our unique wholesale auction platform and related products. You’ll have the opportunity to work across native mobile apps, progressive web apps, and traditional web experiences, ensuring every customer touchpoint is clear, accessible, and engaging.

Responsibilities


  • Design clean, sophisticated user interfaces, icons, and components in collaboration with UX Designers and Product Managers
  • Help maintain and enhance design systems and component libraries
  • Participate in regular design reviews and stakeholder meetings, and be ready to communicate the ‘why’ behind your work
  • Ask thoughtful questions, take risks, champion new ideas, and advocate for the user
  • Continuous learning - stay up to date on industry developments, competitor experiences, accessibility standards, and emerging design patterns and techniques


Requirements


  • 2+ years experience designing for mobile and desktop interfaces
  • Excellent visual design skills
  • Proficiency in Figma is a must-have, ideally including creation and maintenance of components and component libraries, excellent file and layer management, and consistent naming conventions
  • Portfolio that is clear, clean, and easy to navigate
  • Highly collaborative attitude with a deep sense of ownership and accountability
  • Effective communication skills and ability to think through complex systems
  • Passion for understanding users motivations and needs
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Love for exploring emerging design patterns and technologies

Compensation Range Of

Annual Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00

(Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)
