Ocean Import Coordinator

Our client, a supplier of agricultural ingredients to the Food, Pet Food, Industrial and Pharmaceutical industry, is looking for an Ocean Import Coordinator in their Skokie, Illinois office. The Ocean Import Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating international inbound shipments with ocean carriers, customs brokers, warehouses and draymen on a daily basis.

This is a direct hire opportunity.

The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.

The work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm. Once trained, this is a hybrid work model with three days “in office” and two days “remote”.

Ocean Import Coordinator Duties:

• Maintain point of contact for customers and suppliers, handling incoming calls for service and delivery, claims with warehouse and carriers.
• Process and audit international documents; ISF, commercial documents, BOL’s, COA’s and invoices.
• Track and trace international shipments to update personnel and internal systems.
• Set up orders for pick up and delivery.
• Finish file with documents for invoicing including evidence of delivery.

Ocean Import Coordinator Requirements:

• 3-5 years of logistics experience in the International market
• Strong customer service experience
• Associates degree is preferred
