District 200 currently has a need for homebound instructors, particularly in the areas of high level math, science and special education.
Home and hospital instruction is provided to any student who is unable to attend school due to a medical condition. These services are provided at home, in a hospital, or other educational setting. Instructors are usually requested to provide tutorial assistance in all areas of instruction. Periodic conferences between the home/hospital instructor and school staff may be scheduled to coordinate the student's progress in his/her school program.
Responsibilities
Contact the home of assigned student and sets up a schedule of instruction
Communicate with school counselor or student's teachers about progress and/or assignment completion
Takes work from the school to the student, and returns completed work to the school
Works with the student in various subject areas as medical issues permit
Navigate learning platform/google docs and other online sources
Complete weekly progress report and time sheet
Responsible for travel to and from school and/or the home
Dates of Employment: as needed
Qualifications
State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred. If candidate holds a subsitute license, they must be supervised by the student's teacher that holds the appropriate PEL.
Has flexibility in working with students who have medical issues
Hours: flexible
Each student typically may receive five (5) to ten (10) hours of home/hospital instruction per week.
The rate of pay is $30/Hour
