Head of Tax - Private Equity Fund

Vested Search are excited to partner with a globally established Private Equity investor who are looking to hire a newly created Head of Tax position into their New York

The role will be focused towards running tax for the management company with ad-hoc wider responsibilities for fund level tax support and corporate tax initiatives

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Tax reporting, compliance and corporate tax management for management company and funds, both within the US and internationally , including structuring and affiliated tax compliance obligations
• Investor tax query management and scheduling of K-1s
• Address state tax audits for the management company (NYC, NY, MCTMT, LA Business Tax, NYC CRT, etc)
• Ad-hoc responsibilities for the funds tax compliance/partnership tax process (federal and state – namely forms 1099 and 1042) across all asset strategies (private equity, credit and real assets), closely working with external service providers
• Wide ranging responsibilities for the management company also include global and US transfer pricing, CbCR, Pillar 2 adherence, tax basis review under change to K-1 reporting, capital transactions requiring 743 basis adjustments across almost all entities, unwinding intercompany receivables/payables
• Preparing quarterly and annual tax estimates for top level executives and partners of the management company. Analysis of company-wide transactions in all deals as well as management company activity. Work closely with founders’ and their respective family offices.

Applicants should have a strong background in tax within the private equity or investment industry, with good understanding of management company tax
