SCOPE OF ROLE :

Graduate Internship

S:US is seeking graduate ‐ level interns for both the summer and fall semester to assist in project management, development, implementation, and research for S:US programs. The interns will work with the CEO and designated staff, with consideration of the intern’s prior experience and interests. Projects will be developed together and may vary from week to week, based on overall agency need.

The internship will be a part ‐ time position (full ‐ time for a summer internship) and will include a bi ‐ weekly stipend, with the possibility to become a full ‐ time position when the internship is over.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing, managing, and updating project plans;
  • Preparing policy briefings, talking points, presentations, and proposals for internal and external meetings;
  • Assembling research and generating ideas on a variety of topics;
  • Preparing agendas and distributing meeting minutes;
  • Engaging with designated staff on open items and deliverables; and Tracking issues related to various initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills;
  • High ‐ level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Previous health care experience; and
  • Strong interest and background in public health and/or social determinants of health.
  • Ability to perform fiscal analysis is preferred, but not required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Applicant should be a first ‐ or second ‐ year Master’s degree candidate in a relevant field
