Gerontology Research Assistant - NIH
The National Institutes of Health is seeking a Gerontology, Research Assistant. This is a long-term, full-time, contract position based in Baltimore, MD. This position offers a competitive benefits package.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform both routine and specialized laboratory procedures of moderate to high complexity including: Animal Handling: Mouse, Intraperitoneal Injections, Tissue Dissection, Tissue Sectioning, Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), qPCR, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, Cell culture, and Western Blotting
- Keep abreast of current research projects and to determine research assistance and information support.
- Provide training in laboratory experiments to post-doctoral fellows and technicians.
- Interact with students, post-doctoral fellows and non-doctoral research technicians on experimental design and laboratory-based methodologies.
- Provide mentoring to post-baccalaureate students in the research group
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline is required
- Experience in mouse handling is required
