The Role

Leading experienced Australian and locally engaged teams, the General Manager International, Americas is based within the Australian Consulate General in New York City and is a member of a global network that reports to the Austrade Deputy CEO who is based in Australia. Working with counterparts in the Americas, Australian state and territory Governments, the role is responsible for:

  • Contributing to Australia’s global reputation by promoting Australian capability in the Americas region using global objectives and priorities to guide local strategy.
  • Leading sector-focused trade teams responsible for assisting Australian companies achieve commercial trade outcomes.
  • Advancing Australia’s strengths as a highly attractive destination for investors and securing productive foreign investment into Australia.
  • Representing Austrade and Australia in a range of high-level corporate and government settings in Australia and across the Americas.
  • As a member of the senior management team, the General Manager will work collaboratively to deliver the Australian Government’s trade and investment priorities and contribute to Austrade’s broader strategic objectives.
