This position will provide Flight Data Subject Matter Expertise for the 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing, and subsequent Squadrons. The SWW contains most of the United States Air Force (USAF) mission data file (MDF) reprogramming in support of 70+ electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) systems across the Department of Defense and in support of 38 allied countries. The SWW is also responsible for the transition and integration of spectrum dominance capabilities through SIGINT analysis, software development and engineering, and modeling and simulation production.

 

The Flight Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be part of a team to ensure seamless access to critical aircraft and context data for analysis and mission planning. The SME will be vital in supporting Mission Data Reprogramming, Intelligence Flagging, and Combat assessments by integrating and processing data from multiple sources. The SME will work closely with pilots, intelligence, and test personnel to capture, align, and analyze flight and context data, driving root-cause analysis and developing potential solutions. This position is pending award from the government.

 

Location: This Flight Data SME position is based at Eglin AFB, FL

 

Travel: Ability to travel up to 35% of the time. Travel will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

 

Security Clearance: This Flight Data SME must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Top Secret security clearance & be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI.

 

 

  • Serve as a consultant and technical expert on flight data systems, tools and processes of multi-platform data recorders.
  • Identify, collect, and store mission relevant context data
  • Attend mission planning and mission/flight briefs and debriefs
  • Build mission timelines and process data
  • Work with edge Electronic Intelligence and liaise with software developers to support edge use cases
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure effective edge solutions
  • Apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze system, processes, and/or operational problems and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  • Understand flight data operations, and the application of theories, concepts, principles and processes to the development, operations, and maintenance of mission data and mission data operations.
  • Facilitate rapid information collection and transfer of data based on the direction of the government.

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research or other technical/science discipline; or have 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • 5 Years of Experience in Electronic Warfare, Intel, Mission Data Development, Flight Testing, or Data Analytics
  • 3+ Years of Experience supporting DoD Aircraft operations
  • Must possess good communication and presentation skills
  • Must be self-motivated, independent, critical thinker able to work as part of an integrated team
