The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB), a leader in promoting and supporting Michigan's broadcasting industry, is seeking a dynamic Executive Director of Finance to join our team. Reporting directly to the President & CEO and collaborating with the Association's Treasurer, this high-level role oversees all financial operations to ensure the MAB's continued success and growth.
Who you’ll join: The MAB is dedicated to representing, serving, and advancing our radio and television members across Michigan. These partners are represented through the MAB, MABF, MAPB, MPRN, MABSC, and more. We provide advocacy, education, and resources to our members to elevate the interests of broadcasters throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting procedures, financial reporting, and analysis. Prepare and present monthly financial reports for each entity within the Association.
Compliance and Record-Keeping: Maintain official records, including bylaws, contracts, and agreements. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and monitor changes in laws and regulations.
Operational Efficiency: Oversee billing processes, receivables, payables, payroll, and payroll taxes. Coordinate benefits, personnel records, and lobbying reports.
Budgeting and Planning: Lead capital expenditure management, budgeting processes, and investment recommendations in accordance with organizational policies.
Audit Preparation: Maintain up-to-date asset inventories and prepare materials for audits. Ensure accuracy in financial procedures and documentation.
Human Resources: Oversee main HR functions for MAB and staff; develop and implement HR policies and procedures; Manage employee benefit programs; Serve as employee resource for HR related onboarding, questions or issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in association and nonprofit sectors.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
Proficiency in financial software and systems; advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and best practices.
