Job Summary: The Equipment Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of equipment and tooling used in the manufacturing process. This role involves working closely with production teams to ensure equipment efficiency and reliability, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that all tools and equipment meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop new tools and equipment to improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain and repair existing manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve equipment-related issues.
Collaborate with production teams to identify equipment needs and develop solutions.
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for tools and equipment.
Oversee the installation and testing of new equipment.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all equipment-related activities.
Train production staff on the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in tool making and manufacturing equipment technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in equipment engineering and tool making within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CAD software and other design tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Hands-on experience with the fabrication and assembly of tools and equipment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to manufacturing equipment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the electrical manufacturing industry.
Certification in tool making or a related discipline.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
