Summary
This position is responsible for the design, development, and distribution of targeted Epic-based reports. The Epic Data Reporting Analyst participates as a key clinical process implementation and improvement team member to understand workflows, system configuration, and decisions to assist with data collection, population identification, and reporting visualization dependent on project and business needs. This team member is also a key partner and collaborator for clinical and operational teams in the implementation of population health workflows at NHC.
Essential Job Duties
Epic Reporting
Design, develop, and maintain Epic reporting solutions to meet the organization's business intelligence needs
Extract, analyze, and interpret data from Epic EHR to generate meaningful reports and dashboards to support clinical, operational, and population health efforts
Data Analysis
Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making processes
Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights
Report Development
Create and customize reports from Epic Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle data sources using reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Dashboards ensuring accuracy and reliability of information
Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
Documentation
Document reporting processes, data definitions, and report specifications to ensure clarity and consistency
Maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting and knowledge transfer
Maintain strong working knowledge of Epic EHR and general computer applications
Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, IT, QI, and clinical operations to identify opportunities for efficiencies in data reporting and display
Work closely with Epic application teams to ensure reporting solutions align with system updates and changes
Attend meetings at manager and director discretion as the Epic reporting expert and OCHIN liaison
Quality Assurance
Address and resolve issues related to data integrity and reporting discrepancies
Training and Support
Provide training and support to end-users on utilizing Epic reporting tools and interpreting reports effectively
Act as a subject matter expert for reporting-related inquiries and issues
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is required
Previous experience as a Reporting Analyst, preferably in a healthcare system using Epic EHR is required
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Epic reporting sources (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle) is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required
Ability to work with large data sets is required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders is required
Knowledge of healthcare operations, workflows, and regulatory requirements is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors
Ability to communicate 1:1 and in groups to determine reporting needs, intended outcomes, visualization, and training on use

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is full-time, and will typically work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
This position will generally sit for long periods.
This position will travel to other clinics or locations to attend meetings and provide training.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Regularly sit while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls; repeat the same movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Frequently stand and walk around the office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office equipment, or collaborate with employees.
