The Institute for Human Services (IHS), Oahu's oldest and one of the largest homeless service providers is looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual for its full time Employment Specialist position. We need people who are mission driven, professional and dedicated to being a part of the solution to homelessness!
Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates Job Readiness activities with assigned team of volunteers and staff.
Manages and coordinates Job Readiness activities with assigned clients individually or in groups.
Responsible for the team’s performance and assures that the team functions in accordance to the goals of the activity and the program’s outcomes.
Provides ongoing coaching, evaluation and post-employment support to clients and supports the Employment Program Manager.
Requirements
Working knowledge of homeless issues and community resources. Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
Computer proficient with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Able to follow instructions, complete tasks in timely manner, work collaboratively and establish good guest/volunteer rapport.
Able to uphold confidentiality of persons served.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
CPI, CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to pass within first 90 days of employment.
Previous experience working with homeless or other disenfranchised individuals.
Possess valid driver’s license with clean traffic abstract that meets current agency standards.
