Job Summary: The need to create connected employee experiences is more important now than ever before. The Employee Experience Specialist reports to the Director of Human Resources and will shape our employee experience strategy and develop a deeper understanding of our ever-changing business landscape at a site and organizational level. Duties include but are not limited to: managing continuous improvement efforts for employee culture & engagement initiatives using data and metrics to drive improvements; aligning employee experiences with Rising Ground’s core values as well as identifying opportunities to help support leadership in reinforcing an engaging culture. They will work closely with the organization to continuously understand its evolving needs and identify opportunities to deliver through solutions, such as assessments, engagement and retention initiatives, and organizational effectiveness programs.


Essential Functions:

· Drives innovative, effective talent, onboarding, and employee experience strategies to attract, grow and retain a diverse, top-talent pipeline.

· Collaborates with senior leadership to understand targets and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and development of human capital.

· Works with partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement new engagement programs, tools, processes, etc. that enrich the employee experience and reinforce RG’s culture.

· Develops and maintains site integrated schedule to include key program milestones, diversity and community events.

· Partners with DIFB Division and Employee Resource Groups to enhance inclusion across the sites.

· Assists with new projects that amplify our culture and inspire and captivate employees at every phase of their journey.

· Infuses onboarding activities ensuring new hires have effective orientation and introduction to resources needed to be successful.

· Develops, implements, and maintains a sustainable rewards and recognition program that acknowledges employees’ contributions. Research and make ongoing recommendations regarding branding and recognition experience, award options, and best practices.

· Creates onboarding/off boarding surveys and analyze results to identify areas of strengths and weakness; makes recommendations.

· Builds on our existing feedback channels to maintain an open and fluid effective feedback culture; create and/or contribute tools, training materials and resources to help leaders successfully build action plans based on results.

· Ensures the organization’s values are reflected in people-oriented decisions.

· Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation; ensures adherence to federal and state statutes and administration of company personnel policies.

· Participates on committees, perform special projects, and other duties based on organizational needs.

· All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Minimum of one year of progressive HR, People Operations, Employee Experience/Engagement and/or DEI is required; Human Resources Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or interest is a plus.

· Knowledge and experience building and delivering in person and remote recruiting and onboarding experience.

· Project management and/or coordination capabilities preferred.

· Proven successful track record of relationship building with diverse employees.

· Knowledge of human resources law and best practices.

· Ability to build and execute HR strategies related to engagement and employee satisfaction.

· Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.

· Leadership skills and ability to demonstrate a strong people focused mindset.

· Able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced, challenging and dynamic environment.

· Creative and innovative thinker.

· Ability to handle matters of confidentiality with utmost tact and diplomacy; ethical decision making.

FT-9:00am to 5:00pm, 9:30-5:30pm


Travel:

Limited to conferences and visiting other work sites


Physical Requirements: You are a member of a team that requires your presence and accessibility (remote and in-person) to perform its duties effectively. This position will be primarily located in the Rising Ground main office. The position may also require some travel to other programs in Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or Yonkers based on HR initiatives.


Regularly required to sit for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Occasionally required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, or bend. Requires ability to perceive the nature of objects by eye with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less up to 20 feet or more and give and receive information through speaking and listening skills.

Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of self or others. Must comply with safety laws and rules. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such levels as is determined by Rising Ground. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Rising Ground per business needs.
