Electrical Testing Technician

HD Hyundai Power Transformers is currently seeking an Electrical Test Technician to join their team! Pay starts at 16 with a 2-year electrical degree and 15 without.


Responsibilities of the Electrical Test Technician include but are not limited to the following:


  • Prepare power transformers for testing.
  • Execute power transformers tests including low voltage testing, temperature rise testing, lighting impulse testing, and applied voltage testing.
  • Change testing circuits as required for the configuration of the transformer as well as configure the equipment necessary for each test.
  • Maintain test schedules per customer demands, reporting test findings and conclusions to test engineers.
  • Perform repairs on equipment as required in addition to installation and testing of the test equipment to ensure the quality of test results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of testing equipment and test areas.
  • Operate cranes, power lifts, and other heavy equipment.
  • Support and assist in the Quality and Production Departments as deemed necessary by the company.


Qualifications For Electrical Test Technician


  • High School Diploma or GED - Associates Degree in electrical related field strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience as an electrician or service technician for high voltage equipment or have electrical power equipment experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of electricity, NEC, OSHA, and the EPA.
  • Must be able to read electrical schematic blueprints.
  • Must be a quick learner and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work at varying weights on ladders and work platforms.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be safety minded.
  • Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekend,s and holidays as required.
  • OT required as needed.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and walk for many hours ongoing as shift requires daily.
  • Understand and support quality control and quality assurance system.
  • Participate in complex issue investigations and investigation activities.
