If you have experience with virtual delivery of programs, a passion for project management, and are detail oriented, our e-Learning Specialist role may be a fit for you. Our Education & Credentialing team delivers training opportunities and education focused on the professionals in public works.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) serves professionals in all aspects of public works by providing innovative education and credentialing opportunities, advocacy for public works initiatives, and a robust professional network for sharing knowledge, resources, and career opportunities.

 

About the E-Learning Specialist Role:

This position serves as the primary point of contact for the association’s production of live virtual programs—including APWA’s “Click, Listen, and Learn” monthly educational webinars—and of our virtual workshops to include the planning, production, delivery, and speaker development. This position will have several programs in various stages at once so project management skills are a must to ensure that deadlines are met, and the live programs are delivered on time. While there are opportunities for axillary curriculum development projects of e-Courses or live workshops within this position, the primary responsibility of this position is the planning and production of virtual programs with subject matter expert speakers. 

 

 

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Education: A minimum of an Associates degree and 2+ years of experience working in all or some of the following areas: adult education field, online learning and/or training, collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Experience: 3+ years’ experience working knowledge of online training/webinar systems such as Airmeet, WebEx, or Zoom Webinars. 
  • Project Management: Success with prioritizing workload and having flexibility when managing multiple projects with an eye for detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication. High proficiency in using all forms of media to deliver a message, and ability to write for and present to a variety of audiences.
  • Travel: The ability to travel 1-2 times per year, which may include weekend travel.
