The Director, Operational Risk is a role within the 2nd Line of Defense and will lead the oversight and challenge and provide a strong independent framework to execute business priorities, as well as capture, monitor and report on Operational Risks. This role will facilitate and support the enhancement of the Combined US Operations (CUSO) Operational Risk operational risk program execution and governance structure and will foster internal collaboration across CUSO and regional leads and their teams, assessing the impact of emerging or existing risks interfacing with internal stakeholders across CUSO. In addition, management of the 2LOD Operational Risk program execution, including controls, risk assessments and issues management will be led and maintained within this position. There will also be collaboration with other Directors within CUSO Operational Risk in developing monthly and quarterly reporting to ensure timely dissemination of Operational Risk information that will assist in the decision making and risk management at the US level. This role will also assist with Operational Risk Policy governance and Operational Resilience Tracking across CUSO.
What will you do?
Drive an integrated operational risk program for CUSO, partnering with internal stakeholders as well regional leads across CUSO.
Manage the overall Portfolio of operational risk activities providing transparency, communication and provide periodic updates on execution, committees, and preparedness programs
Direct the identification and measurement of organizational and non-financial risk; implement programs and processes to minimize risk. Manage activities to enhance the 2LOD Operational Risk structure
Manage and oversee ORM policies, standards, processes and tools for all operational risk management programs.
Plan and execute periodic reviews of operational risk guidance to evaluate the completeness of existing governance documents, policies and standards; include gaps and inconsistencies as input to the policy development, maintenance process and execution of activities across CUSO
Ensure oversight and tracking is in place for CUSO Operational Resilience work. Create periodic status reporting and other presentation materials on progress against Operational Resilience milestones for senior management and governance forums
Ensure review and challenge occurs across CUSO for Frameworks, Policies and Standards
Oversee 2LOD CUSO Operational Risk Internal Control Program and additional aspects of the Operational Risk practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
10+ years previous experience working in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization
Nice-to-have
MBA and/or PMP certification

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
