Job Title: Director of Education, Mission, and Outreach
Location: First Presbyterian Church Quincy
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as the Director of Education,
Mission, and Outreach. This position will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing our
educational programs for adults, youth, and children, as well as leading our mission and outreach
initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing spiritual growth, engaging in
mission work, and building community within and beyond our congregation.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement educational programs for adults, focusing on topics such as theology,
Bible study, and spiritual formation.
2. Coordinate and lead mission and outreach efforts, including local service projects, community
partnerships, and global mission trips.
3. Collaborate with church leadership to develop a vision and strategy for adult education,
mission, and outreach that aligns with the mission and values of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
4. Provide leadership and support for youth ministry programs, including Sunday school, youth
group meetings, retreats, and special events.
5. Develop and implement a comprehensive children and family ministry program, including
Sunday school curriculum, family worship experiences, and special events.
6. Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with educational programs, mission projects,
and youth and children's ministry activities.
7. Coordinate and facilitate small group discussions, Bible studies, and other opportunities for
spiritual growth and fellowship among adults, youth, and families.
8. Collaborate with church staff and committees to integrate education, mission, and outreach
initiatives into the overall life and ministry of the congregation.
9. Plan and organize educational events, workshops, and guest speaker presentations for adults,
youth, and families.
10. Stay informed about trends in Christian education, mission, and outreach, and implement
innovative strategies to engage and empower members of all ages.
Qualifications:
A strong commitment to the mission and values of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Previous experience in Christian education, youth ministry, and/or mission work,
preferred but not required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and church members of diverse
backgrounds.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with social media platforms.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
