JKS Restaurants are seeking an International Operations Director to oversee their growing International concepts across the USA.
This is an ideal role for an Operations Director with international experience, looking for a role in an award-winning, critically acclaimed group.
The Group
JKS Restaurants is a London based group. Founded by siblings Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi in November 2008. The group has received critical acclaim and industry recognition since its inception, including 7 Michelin stars, 4 Michelin Bib Gourmands and one restaurant ranked in the World’s 100 Best restaurants.
The JKS portfolio currently includes Michelin Starred restaurants Trishna, Gymkhana, Kitchen Table, Sabor and Lyle’s; as well as cult favourites Hoppers, BAO, Brigadiers, Berenjak, Plaza Khao Gaeng, Speedboat Bar and Bibi. Pubs include The Cadogan Arms and The George.

The Role
As International Operations Director, you will be passionate about building, energizing and mentoring top–performing teams with experience in leading new opening projects ensuring the brand guidelines are followed. Ensuring the personality, design & soul of our brands are delivered in a new market by working closely with our London and partner teams.
The role will be based full-time in New York City with regular travel across the US.
The International Operations Director responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordinating with International Partners and London teams
- Co-ordinating on-site development
- Critical path management for Brand alignment.
- Liaising with London and partner design teams to ensure restaurant build is according to brand guidelines.
- Coordinating with London and partner operations team to ensure OS&E and training is within brand guidelines.
- Ensuring that partners are planning and working with London marketing team
- Aligning brand with local market.
- Purchases required happening by franchisee in line with critical path
- Sense checking menus against market availability
- Supporting with hiring of teams
- Regular Auditing of restaurants against brand and standard playbooks.
Prerequisites for the role:
- Previous experience as an Operations Director or Operations Manager overseeing multiple restaurants in the premium dining space, along with some relevant brand expansion experience;
- Hospitality-led, people first view to running restaurants, along with a willingness to take a hands-on approach to the role;
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations;
- Willingness to lead by example and get involved in the day-to-day operations of individual sites where required;
- Strong understanding of restaurant commercials and financials, including but not limited to, general lease terms and opening costs, pre-opening and
- steady-state budgets, restaurant P&Ls, day-to-day controls mechanisms. This will need to be demonstrated via previous involvement in the restaurant
- openings spanning pre-lease negotiations to post-opening;
- Prior experience with stock, EPoS, HR, reservations and delivery systems.
