Job Overview

CenterSquare is looking to hire a Director of Capital Markets. This individual will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for raising capital for CenterSquare’s private real estate, listed real estate and debt fund offerings. The targeted client base will be institutional investors and intermediaries in the United States and Canada, including corporate and public pension funds, foundations, endowments and family offices, as well as consultants/OCIOs and other advisors. The position will be based in CenterSquare’s suburban Philadelphia office.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Engage with institutional investors and intermediaries to introduce and effectively position CenterSquare’s public and private real estate products and solutions
  • Employ a highly consultative and strategic approach to raise meaningful capital for CenterSquare’s strategies across the US/Canada; develop the most compelling narrative, identify strategic relationships and prospective clients, determine cadence and timing of approach,
  • Collaborate extensively with internal teams, including portfolio management, risk management, investor relations, marketing, legal, compliance and operations to drive opportunities
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of current market and real estate industry trends, CenterSquare competitors, and the needs and challenges of our clients
  • Gather and filter client and prospect feedback and potential product demand; contribute to new product design, development and launch
  • Identify and facilitate separate account opportunities that may help establish or expand relationships with larger clients and prospects
  • Continuously expand relationships with institutional investors, consultants and other real estate investors
  • Serve as an ambassador for the firm at industry and investor conferences; be viewed by clients/consultants as a senior-level CenterSquare representative
  • Travel extensively across the US and Canada

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15+ years of experience in the asset management industry in a similar capacity, with a proven track record of raising capital for private and/or public real estate strategies within the institutional and intermediary marketplace
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or related field; CFA certification or MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated relationships with a wide range of sophisticated investors and intermediaries
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate investment products and strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; clear and confident communication style within both private and public forums and across a wide array of partners/stakeholders
  • Ability to drive results and thrive within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven track record as a collaborative team player
  • Self-motivated, passionate and intellectually curious
  • Strong work ethic, personal accountability and attention to detail
  • Highest level of professionalism, integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to travel extensively across US/Canada
  • Candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, the appropriate FINRA registration requirements (Series 7 & 63)
