Overview

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer who is responsible to work with our team to develop machining fixtures and ensure success of projects from concept through the entire design/build process. This involves creating a complete 3d model of the fixture, detailing drawings for manufacturing various components, and following it through final assembly and implementation. We are looking for a driven individual that is seeking to broaden their skills over time with a growing company. We promote a team environment, so you'll work with fellow team members along with other departments throughout our company.

Responsibilities

  • Design new mechanical assemblies or components using Solidworks
  • Take general concept and complete design with little supervision
  • Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Specifies purchase item list
  • Provide a comprehensive documentation including CAD models, assembly instructions, and complete parts lists
  • Work directly with the assembly and manufacturing team to improve a product in both functionality and efficiency
  • Maintain all documents and designs while following ISO procedures
  • Work with team to develop process plans and models for new proposals


Qualifications

  • Education: Technical School Graduate, or equivalent experience in manufacturing environment. BS degree a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and assemblies.
  • Soft Skills: Teamwork, problem solving, quality management, judgement, oral/written communication skills.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of CAD systems, both 2D and 3D, Solidworks experience is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Complete tasks within required time frame
    • Working knowledge of chip-producing machining processes a plus
    • Ability to develop processing plan working from 2d drawings and 3d models of finished parts.
