Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice.

They are currently seeking an Insurance Defense Associate to join their team in New York, with options to work a hybrid schedule.

We are looking for qualified candidates with 3+ years experience in Insurance Defense.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate insurance claims and legal matters to determine the merits of a defense strategy.
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases to develop effective legal strategies.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.
• Provide legal representation for insurance companies or other clients in defense against claims.
• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate handling of legal matters.
• Organize and maintain case files, documents, and relevant information.
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients regarding potential risks and outcomes.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Prepare legal opinions and memoranda supporting defense strategies.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties to resolve claims efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Represent clients in court during hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Present legal arguments, examine witnesses, and cross-examine opposing witnesses.
• Collaborate with experts to strengthen the defense strategy.
• Interpret insurance policies and coverage terms to provide guidance to clients.
• Advise clients on coverage issues and potential liabilities.

Qualifications:

• Member in good standing with the New York Bar

Comp is up to $175k + bonuses.
