THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

The Distribution Center Director interprets ULTA Supply Chain strategic direction and vision to ensure the overall success of an automated, retail distribution center environment by maintaining a productive, safe and positive place to work. The Director is responsible for the overall management, planning, organization and execution of daily operations for the entire distribution center and budget. Contributes to the development of DC leadership by providing guidance to Distribution Center employees on all aspects of their career with ULTA through active development planning, frequent feedback, coaching and performance management programs.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

  • Deliver outstanding service and support to customers of all ULTA sales channels; to include complete, accurate and timely fulfillment.
  • Manage operations in such a way to maximize efficiencies and productivity, optimize labor cost expenditures, and ensure safe operating practices.
  • Oversee all areas of operations, including the leadership and development of all associates.
  • Develop strategic direction and establishes appropriate priorities for projects critical to success.
  • Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations, and interacts with regulatory officials as required.
  • Assess organizational and operational effectiveness, while advocating process and technology changes/enhancements that will improve operating processes and performance.
  • Develop and maintain annual operating budget and KPI metrics. Achieve operating and financial objectives within budgeted guidelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity and financial performance
  • Ensures effective communication within the DC of all key initiatives to encourage a consistent understanding of the reasons for, direction of, and expected results of each project.
  • Oversees facilities management, including vendor selection, negotiation of rates and service contracts.
  • Interface with other senior managers to provide integrated operating goals that meet with overall Company objectives. Recommend measures to improve the supply chain, distribution methods, team performance, and quality of product.

The Essentials For Success

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Logistics or related field from a four-year college or university; MBA preferred. Ten to fifteen years managing Distribution centers or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail distribution experience is strongly desired.
  • Strong project management experience and the ability to achieve results with and through others.
  • Ability to formulate goals and objectives and motivate his/her self and 200 – 400 employees to work as a team to accomplish these goals and objectives.
  • Fulfillment experience direct to consumer.
  • Prior experience with budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, including P/L responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Broad working knowledge of DC processes and operations. Thorough knowledge of RF Scanner and WMS systems functionality.
  • Capacity to build external and internal relationships to establish credibility across the organization and engage others to ensure the most effective supply chain solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in the implementation of strategic plans and process improvements.
  • Strong leadership, team building, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Skilled in change management.
  • Experience with conveyors, sortation systems, light directed technology, and carousels are preferred.

Special Position Requirements

  • Work additional hours and/or days as needed, particularly during high volume periods, to ensure that objectives are accomplished.
