Database Administrator

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our database systems. This includes ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of databases, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any database-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers and instances.
  • Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning, and optimize query performance.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of databases.
  • Perform regular backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data.
  • Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including regular updates and patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide technical support.
  • Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Manage database access controls and user permissions.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary security measures.
  • Prepare and maintain database documentation, including schemas, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with development and IT teams to support database-related activities and projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
