We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team! You will be responsible for collaborating directly with software developers, infrastructure engineers, solution architects, and our clients to build and grow business process solutions. As a pivotal part of this team, you will serve as the subject matter expert on all matters relating to the database platform(s) used, database creation, optimization, expansion, and issue resolution of the databases within our business process solutions.

Responsibilities


  • Support the day-to-day operation of databases & applications
  • Assist in establishing and meeting database related SLAs
  • Assist in developing, gathering data for and reporting of metrics
  • Ensure compliance of standards and conventions for database development
  • Design and deploy scheduled jobs
  • Database schema design and creation
  • Creation of SQL stored procedures, functions and reports
  • SQL Administration including SQL Maintenance, Back-up & Restore, Migrations, New Installations
  • Write SSRS and Power BI reports
  • Manage TLOG backups and MSSQL MDF/LDF sizes
  • Work with PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MSSQL
  • SSIS/SQL Server agent job ingestion
  • Experience in utilizing query stores for optimizing query performance
  • Evaluate available database platforms to determine best fit for the solution
  • Index creation and performance optimization
  • Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, including issues with workflow, software, hardware, device integration
  • Follow or create a corrective action plan to resolve request and/or escalate as needed to the appropriate Customer/IT Teams
  • Perform complex relational database management tasks for both development and production applications, including, but not limited to backup and recovery and DB disaster recovery solutions
  • Stay abreast of, recommend new approaches, tools & features and implement emerging database technologies


Qualifications

  • 3 + years of database development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. An equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training may be substituted
  • Familiarity with Ola Hallgren or Brent ozar maintenance jobs
  • Common database platforms such as Microsoft SQLServer, Postgres, MySQL
  • Windows and Linux server OS experience
  • Experience with architecting HA/DR databases (e.g. Mirroring, Clustering, AOAG)
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g. C#, Python, JavaScript)
  • Rich experience report creation with tools such as Power BI, AWS QuickSight, SSRS
  • Cloud Computing services such as AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Customer Service skills
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Well-developed business acumen
  • Proven experience with communication to management and partners
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Solution documentation creation experience
