Job Summary:

As an expert on the Data Science team, a data scientist is responsible for data mining, building predictive models, & driving the construction of data products. We use data to solve problems across a wide range of verticals, from retail to government services to financial services. We are looking for an individual that comes from a Banking background that has experience with Risk Management, Actuarial Science, and Climatology. This position will work closely with our business partners ensuring solutions meet business objectives and provide high contextual value.

Requirements:

• Masters or PhD in a field that includes the study of statistics
• At least 5 years of experience applying data science in client-facing roles
• Experience working as a technical lead in client-facing roles
• Experience working in a banking background including risk management and actuarial science
• Background in climatology
• Machine Learning (preferably deep learning) experience
• Strong programming skills in a scripting language like R or Python
• Experience performing analytics in a graph database
• Experience with scientific data
• Experience as a team member
• Experience relevancy ranking

Responsibilities:

Work with data engineers to build mineable datasets

Execute data mining activities providing insight from datasets

Build accurate predictive models driving decision making

Work with business owners to understand context within datasets

Deliver insight to leadership, helping drive strategic business decisions

Hypothesize, experiment & drive insight by any means necessary

Drive innovation by evaluating business processes and identifying data science solutions
