Job Summary

Teaches one to three sections of lower division, General

Education Dance courses in ballet, jazz dance, modern dance

and/or tap dance.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties

  • Teaches one to three sections of General Education dance

classes in one or more styles, ballet, jazz dance, modern dance

and/or tap dance.

  • Follows the standard course curriculum outline, teaches

technique and theory of dance, prepares and delivers lectures,

tests and other classroom activities.

  • Evaluates student writing and research components of the

courses.

  • Keeps accurate classroom records.
  • Prepares and administers student evaluations.
  • Provides ADA accommodations as directed.
  • Follows SLCC policies and procedures.
  • Keeps minimal office hours.
  • Available to teach at multiple campus sites.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties Continued

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Graduate level knowledge (and/or professional work experiences)

of dance technique, theory and history. Teaching methods and

Good Communication Skills Essential.
