The Role

The Controller will be a significant player in Fairwood Brands leadership at a pivotal time, as we set the business up for impactful growth. The role will be a leader amongst the entire accounting organization and in a position to guide teammates through business and system integrations while ensuring the overall control and compliance of our financial statements. The Controller reports into the Chief Financial Officer and will have several direct reports as well as broad reach across our various businesses.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of each month’s financial statements, as well as strong communication across the various locations during close
• Identify and lead the implementation of process improvements that will create a strong foundation for a fast-growing business
• Support the integration of new businesses, including open balance sheet and system and process integration
• Identify and support the execution of improvements in Net Working Capital and overall Cashflow
• Develop efficient internal controls that mitigate risk across a decentralized, multi-site organization
• Directly lead a small team and provide guidance to a broader group of remote accounting staff, coaching the team through change and provide training, as needed
• Be a leader and presenter in team meetings and trainings

Required Qualifications

• 10-15 years of public/private corporate accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Master’s degree or CPA
• Business and System Integration Experience

• Percentage-of-Completion accounting
• Quickbooks
• Banking Relationships
