Controller

A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, a utility player that is linked to a core competency (i.e. operations or accounting & finance), and have Healthcare industry experience.

The Controller role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate processing of accounts payables (AP).
• Manage card budgets for all programs according to established and historical guidelines. This happens weekly based on census.
• Reconciliation of company credit cards ensuring that budgets are adhered to and that fraud and waste is identified. Oversight of the purchasing of groceries, supplies, materials and equipment for departments to include the analysis of expenses and determination of their appropriateness in terms of cost, quantity, and intended use as compared to definition of line item to which the expense is being allocated.
• Make recommendations to Supervisor with respect to the need to increase or decrease specific line items or overall weekly budgets based upon program data.
• Input of credit card and other payables data into QuickBooks ensuring that expenses are appropriately departmentalized.
• Manage online credit card account including staff declines/lost card/fraud alerts. Investigate accordingly.
• Monthly billing includes but is not limited to: claims submissions, additional funding source (CMHSP or other) payments and resident room & board payments.
• Complete deposits and enters deposits and ACH transactions into accounting software (QuickBooks).
• Run aged receivables (AR) report monthly; submit to Direct Supervisor for follow up.
• Process benefit/insurance reconciliation of Medical/Vision/Dental, 401(k), Aflac, COBRA within 5 business days after 2nd payroll of the month has been completed.
• Input bi-weekly payroll and bi-weekly/monthly benefits into QuickBooks.
• Become cross trained on bi-weekly payroll processing along with HR Manager.
• May be asked to process payroll / Payroll may become a Finance task after cross training.
• Enter garnishments into QuickBooks
• Complete Payroll Reconciliation

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Two years of finance related experience
• Health care field preferred, not required.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
• The ability to communicate expressively and receptively in order to follow plan requirements, reports, and activities performed.
• Willing to participate in peer review and accepting of constructive coaching.
• Performs other related finance duties as assigned by Direct Supervisor and Executive Leadership Team.
