Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-3:30pm (no work on the weekends!)

WORK Inc., one of New England’s most progressive providers of services to adults with disabilities is seeking exceptional persons who are committed to work that make life better for others. Currently, we are looking for a full time Community Resource Specialist who will support individuals served in the Community program by promoting independence, while empowering and enhancing their quality of life.

We focus on taking individuals into the community. We make sure to have fun while practicing Safety, Responsibility, and Respect. We are here to make a difference in each individual’s lives that we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Must be able to be on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to stay at work until the end of the scheduled shift.
  • Willing to utilize MBTA transportation
  • Drives safely
  • Responsible for assuring the safety of the individual served under your supervision out in the community. (Keeping eyes on the consumers that you are responsible)
  • Willing to follow the daily activity schedules with the consumers. (Volunteerism, social recreational activities, etc.)
  • Assisting in the transition of individuals with disabilities from work program model to supported employment &/or community based activities
  • Actively engages with our individuals while in the community while participating in meaningful activities.

Requirements:

  • High school/GED or a minimum of 1 year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Professional, responsible and punctual
  • Active/Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License (Vehicle is not required)
  • Must be willing to travel train individuals on the MBTA
  • Positive and compassionate attitude
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Committed to safety
  • Strong ethics

Preference will be given to candidates who can work the scheduled hours of 8am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. It is essential that the candidate can be prompt at 8 am and stay until 3:30 pm.

With a current budget of 40 million dollars, WORK Inc.'s dedicated staff and managers continue its mission to provide vocational training and placement services, enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities and encouraging more independence.
